A few years back, Veena was an IT professional.‘ In those days, I did some traveling and online searching to design the interior of my house according to my preferences and tastes. Concepts and ideas that were hidden somewhere inside the deepest recesses of my mind began to emerge, rather brilliantly during this journey. I spent enormous amounts of time finding the right decor items, searching for the best among them while spending the least amount, finding the most varied decorative items, trying unusual combinations… and so on and so forth…and it soon became a passion for me.
The house I set out to decorate came out looking very beautiful at the end of my efforts, and appreciation poured in from whoever saw it! They asked me, “who did the interior design?” The answer of “I am, myself” gradually evolved to the name “Veena Murali Decors” and gave birth to my enterprise’, said Veena with a laugh.
You are truly successful in life when you live happily. And all you need to attain that is to pursue your passion and make your dreams come true. Veena’s favorite pastimes have always been interior designing and photography. However, it became a profession only after she did up her own house. Using Indian traditional arts, and through lots of trial and error, over time, Veena learnt to transform her house into a modern home.
This gave her confidence and propelled Veena into leaving her job and following her passion. And slowly, without her even knowing it, her passion was growing into a business venture.

Veena brought each piece of art to her home by personally meeting artists from different parts of India and understanding how their artwork was crafted and made. Soon, friends and relatives started to inquire as to where the artifacts in her home came from, and Veena realized that collecting artifacts and arranging them aesthetically was her specialty. As Paulo Coelho said, “if we have a wish, the whole world will be with us to make it come true”.And this can be underlined with 100 percent conviction in the case of Veena’s life.
The secret behind the success of this venture was the hard work behind it, even though the brand emerged coincidentally. Maintaining the quality of the product and sincerely dedicating every moment of her life to it was the mantra Veena followed. Veena Murali Decors was founded in Chennai 6 years ago with a vision to promote the creation and production of decorative items and art from India’s traditional artisans. Apart from delivering products online to people, the initiative also collaborates with artists and self-help groups from various places. Veena Murali Decors showcases the beauty and intricacy of traditional antique metal and wood art to the audience and allows them to own that beautiful piece that they covet.
